A Relationship with God
You Are Welcome Here...
No matter your past, your questions, your doubts, or your story, God’s grace is greater. Jesus came to seek and save the lost, and there is hope for you today.
At Cornerstone Christian Church, we believe God loves you, sees you, and desires a real relationship with you.
The Most Important Question
Every person wrestles with big questions at some point in life:
- What happens when I die?
- Where will I spend eternity?
- Does my life really matter?
The most important question you will ever answer is this:
If you were to die today, would you spend eternity with God in heaven?
The answer to that question is not found in religion, good intentions, or personal effort. It is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Bible says:
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.”
— 1 John 5:13
God wants you to know, not guess.
Recognize Our Condition
One of the hardest things for any of us to admit is that we are lost. Pride tells us we are doing “well enough.” Scripture tells us otherwise.
From the very beginning, sin entered the world and affected every person. Sin is anything that goes against God’s perfect will, and it separates us from Him.
The Bible says:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23
Sin has consequences. Just as there is a cost for breaking the law, sin carries a penalty: spiritual death and separation from God.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23
No amount of success, morality, or religion can remove our sin problem.
Religion and Good Works Are Not the Answer
Many people try to bridge the gap between themselves and God through religion, church attendance, morality, or good deeds. While those efforts may seem sincere, they can never remove sin or restore a broken relationship with God.
The Bible says:
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
— Proverbs 14:12
Salvation is not something we earn. It is something we receive.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8–9
You cannot work your way to heaven. Jesus already did the work for you on the cross.
The Good News: Jesus Christ Is the Way
Here is the heart of the Gospel: God loves you.
Even while we were separated from Him because of sin, God stepped toward us. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again three days later, defeating sin and death once and for all.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16
Jesus took the punishment we deserved so that forgiveness and eternal life could be offered freely.
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8
Jesus is not just a good teacher or a religious figure. He is the Savior of the world and the only way
to God.
Believe and Receive Christ
A relationship with God begins when we stop trusting ourselves and place our full trust in Jesus Christ
alone.
The Bible calls this repentance and faith.
Repentance means turning from sin and turning toward God.
Faith means trusting completely in what Jesus Christ has done for you through His death and resurrection.
The Bible says:
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
— Romans 10:13
Salvation is not about becoming perfect overnight. It is about surrendering your life to Jesus and beginning a new relationship with Him.
A Prayer of Faith
If you are ready to place your faith in Jesus Christ, you can pray from your heart in your own words, or pray something like this:
Dear God,
I know that my sin has separated me from You. I confess that I cannot save
myself. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again. Today I turn from
my sin and place my trust in Jesus Christ alone as my Savior and Lord. Thank
You for forgiving me, changing me, saving me, and giving me eternal life.
Amen.
