Baptism

Baptism is a powerful next step in your walk with Jesus. It’s not what saves you—but it’s a public declaration that your life has already been changed by Him. When someone is baptized, they are showing the world that they have put their faith in Jesus Christ and are choosing to follow Him.

At Cornerstone, we practice baptism by full water immersion. Why? Because it best represents what Jesus has done for us—death, burial, and resurrection. When you go under the water, it symbolizes your old life being buried. When you come up, it represents new life in Christ.

Romans 6:4
"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too might walk in newness of life."

Baptism is also an act of obedience. Jesus Himself was baptized, and He calls His followers to do the same.

Matthew 28:19–20
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

We hold baptisms throughout the year, often during special services or outdoor gatherings. Since we don’t have a baptismal on-site, we love using natural settings—like lakes or rivers—which creates a meaningful and memorable experience.

If you’re ready to take this step, or if you have questions, we’d love to walk with you through it. We also offer teaching on baptism to help you understand what it means and why it matters before you make that decision.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

Baptism is about going public with your faith. It’s a step of obedience, a celebration of new life, and a moment you’ll never forget.

If you’re ready to be baptized, let us know—we’d be honored to be part of your story.
